Yoga Classes
All yoga asanas(postures) are designed to improve balance, strength and flexibilty. By using the breath and concentrated yet relaxed mental effort, a state conducive to peacefulness is attained.
Beginners Yoga
Beginners courses are intermittent. Newcomers to yoga are welcome to most classes. For more details, please enquire before attending class.
Yoga Level 1
Students learn the fundamental principles from the classic groups of postures, including an introduction to inverted poses.
Yoga Level 2
As more confidence develops in inverted postures, students begin to explore variations in a wider range of asanas.
Mixed Levels Yoga
Students with a good background in the language of yoga and ease in most postures, including holding poses longer and practicing short vinyasas.
Mellow Yoga
A gentle mixed level class, suitable for those new to yoga and those with special needs who may require additional support and coaching.
Prenatal/ Mom & Baby Yoga
A combined class which helps the expectant mother focus on preparing for a more comfortable and self-empowering pregnancy and easier birth. New mom's and their babes connect with each other in a class which is especially designed to assist with the unique demands of motherhood.
Men's Yoga
This class is suited to those who prefer working on very specific poses related to correcting the effects of occupational hazards for most men.
Restorative Yoga
Specialized sequencing using specific suport in poses, nourish the nervous and immune systems. Highly restorative, the blanket, bolster and cushion support create a session conducive to deep relaxation.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is the meditative heart of yoga. Described as a place between waking and sleeping, it offers complete mental, emotional and physical relaxation through the use of breathwork, visualizations, and progressive letting go of all the body's nervous systems and centres.
Chair Yoga
Using the chair as an aid, this class is suitable for those with specific needs.
Wall Yoga
A highly technical system of belts attached to the wall which enable the practitioner, once attached to these belts, to use their own body weight to improve flexibility and strength in asana. Work on the wall is incorporated into some of our yoga classes, and special Wall Yoga classes and workshops are sometimes offered.
